Photo credit: Steve Hillebrand, USFWS The Task Ahead We are excited that the 110th Congress has made energy and global warming policies a priority. Recent passage of a comprehensive energy bill in December 2007 is a welcome first step towards producing energy in a more sustainable way, reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and stabilizing our global climate. But much more needs to be done to secure America’s energy future and protect our environment and public health. We encourage all Members to work together in a bipartisan fashion to craft solutions to our climate problem that will safeguard our children's future, as well as maintain American prosperity and leadership in the world.
