Telepress Briefing: The Year Ahead for International Global Warming Talks

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, March 26 at 10:30 A.M. EST, the Pew Environment Group hosted a global warming telepress briefing with Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), who chairs key energy and climate panels and Yvo de Boer, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This briefing occured just before the March 29-April 8 Bonn climate meeting where the world takes the first step on the road to Copenhagen to reach a new international agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol. The speakers discussed the upcoming climate meeting, the state of play in the international process and what role the United States will play in drafting the new climate treaty.
