PRESS RELEASE: Oklahoma Clean Energy Economy Jobs Grew Almost Three Times Faster than Overall Jobs Pew Charitable Trusts, June 10, 2009

Oklahoma has a small but growing piece of America's clean energy economy. Jobs in
the state's clean energy economy grew three times as fast as total jobs
between 1998 and 2007, and Oklahoma attracted more than $5 million in
clean technology venture capital in the past three years, all of which has
been invested in the category of Clean Energy. According to the American
Wind Energy Association, Oklahoma's potential wind power capacity is
nearly 82,000 megawatts more than its actual projects currently use.
Oklahoma State University is preparing the state workforce to harness that
potential through a new wind turbine technology degree program
