PRESS RELEASE: Kansas Clean Energy Economy Jobs Grew Faster than Overall Jobs Pew Charitable Trusts, June 10, 2009

While Kansas has a small piece of America's clean energy economy, its jobs in this sector
are growing at one of the fastest rates in the country—and much faster than its total
jobs. Legislation enacted in Kansas in April 2009 may help further this
growth, particularly in the Clean Energy category. The law directs up to $5
million to proposed wind and solar projects that will employ a minimum of
200 full-time employees within five years, at an average salary of at least
$32,500.1 Kansas also attracted more than $13 million in clean technology
venture capital in the past three years, all of which has been invested in
clean energy generation.
