PRESS RELEASE: Idaho Clean Energy Economy Jobs Grew 9 Times Faster than Overall Jobs Pew Charitable Trusts, June 10, 2009

Idaho has a small but fast-growing piece of America's clean energy economy. The
state's number of jobs in the clean energy economy more than doubled
between 1998 and 2007, growing at a much faster rate than total jobs. The
state has more wind power potential than Oregon and Washington
combined, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, and the state
university is considering a wind technologies degree program to support
that potential industry.1 Additionally, Idaho attracted nearly $28 million in
clean technology venture capital in the past three years, all of which has
been invested in the Clean Energy category.
